SPIRIT BEAR

Deep in the rain forests of British Columbia, lives the rare Kermode bear. The Kitasoo Xzi’xais call them Spirit Bears, created by Raven to remind the People of a time when the lush wilderness was covered with snow and ice. I loved painting this quiet scene of a Spirit Bear, caught in sunlight as he patiently fishes for salmon.
